Artist Proof (AP/EA)
Limited Artist Proof of the work from Frank Van Imschoot. The abbreviations 'EA' (Epreuve d’Artiste) in French or 'AP' (Artist Proof) in English are used to indicate the copies that are printed on top of the planned edition. Normally these copies are also be numbered. Apart from this, they are not always different from the other prints, sometimes the paper type or size might be different. Some collectors attach more (emotional) value to the EA/AP because it is assumed that they come from the hands of the master himself. The deontological rule is of course that the number of AP or EA may only constitute a small percentage of the regular circulation, often not more than 10% of the total amount of prints. In the COA the exact numbers of the edition, including the amount of AP are always documented.
